Well I never

Post by Rafiki »

By jove, they've done it again! And this time a sweep.

I never imagined I'd be living through a dynasty in my lifetime.

Heavens! I know they're not a very popular team outside of Oakland but I do beam with pride to see all the buildings lit up blue and all the passerbys wearing their warrior pride colors.

Most humbled to be a faithful part of this great tale.

World Cup Shnood!

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you sporty guys!

Did you know it was possible to Shnood the World Cup? Well that is exactly what Lee and I (and to a lesser extent Duddles) are doing!

We took turns picking teams - and after overcoming some difficulties with choosing teams not in the tournament and picking Morocco twice while forgetting about Panama (whoops!) - we ended up with 14 teams each for Lee and I and 4 teams for Duddles.

Lee's teams:
Germany
Argentina
Spain
Uruguay
South Korea
Costa Rica
Croatia
Sweden
Peru
Japan
Nigeria
Switzerland
Australia
Saudi Arabia

My teams:
Brazil
Belgium
Portugal
France
Mexico
England
Colombia
Russia
Poland
Senegal
Iceland
Denmark
Iran
Egypt

Duddles' Teams:
Morocco
Panama
Serbia
Tunisia

Let the Shnood begin!

* Also since Duddles only got 4 teams, I decided he will get an extra 15 Shnoods if Chicharito wins the Golden Boot!

Shnood update

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Shnood guys,

In case any of you bears were off living in a cabin in the woods, I figured I would catch everyone up with what has happened in the World Cup so far.

I ended up with 9 teams in the final 16, and Lee got 7 teams. (Duddles got 0)

I then got 5 teams in the final 8, and Lee got 3. (Duddles got 0)

According to mini-nibs' highly advanced calculus, that means I am winning! But he also tells me it is still anyone's Shnood to win (except Duddles).

Personally I think France looks like the team to beat.

Cool!

Shnood Finals

Post by Shnoodles »

The finals are set - it's France (my team) vs Croatia (Lee's team)

I will be watching the final while waving a baguette, and I'm sure Lee will be doing the same with the equivalent traditional Croatian food... which appears to be a stuffed goose and head cheese... eww!

Go Mbappe!

Vive la France!

Post by Shnoodles »

Wow France did it!

They won for the first time since 1998. They beat Croatia 4-2. Mbappe even scored a thumper of a goal!

The final Shnood standings were me with 37 Shnoods and Lee with 20 Shnoods (Duddles got 0).

Thanks for Shnooding it up with me, Lee. Hopefully we can do it again in 2022!

I have heard rumblings that the Warriors are in need of a bit of cheering up

Well I may not be the peppiest but I can give it a shot

Ahem, listen to old Rafiki - even though Steph is not playing at the moment, he lives in all of you!

There, I think that should do the trick

Me and Sneeches and Tom Brady!

Post by peaches »

Hi sports fans!

I am excited to see Sneeches in a few weeks in Sunny Encischlopas where we will get to watch Tom Brady in the Snuper Bowl for the 3rd straight year!

We will be watching from a different house this year but at least we can count on Tom Brady to always be there!

Also hopefully grapes as well for Schlop!

See you soon, Sneeches!

Iced hockey

Post by DJ »

When I say "St Louis Blues" you might think of Snuffles, or perhaps Gulliver.

Well, there is actually a hockey team called the Blues and yesterday they won their first championship, which is also called a Stanley Schlop Trophy.

At one point this year the Blues were in last place - which goes to show you that you should never give up hope.

Fuzzah for the Blues.

My word!

Post by Rafiki »

Why I nearly spit out my Earl Grey this morning when I saw the NBA standings in the paper - could it truly be that the Golden State Warriors were in last place?

I have to admit - I knew Kevin Durant leaving would be a burden but I had just assumed Steph would have things in order and lead them back to the playoffs. I think the team will need an exceptional pep talk from yours truly to inspire them back to greatness. Well, here goes...

There, there boys. You can do it. Pip, pip, cheerio!

Snuper Bowl time!

Post by Snuffles »

This year the Snuper Bowl is between a team from the flannel bear state (Chiefs) and a team from the malm state (49ers). It's a real bear showdown!

Usually when this happens the governors of the 2 states will make a bet where the loser has to send over a traditional foodstuff from their state. So maybe we should say if the Chiefs win Schlop has to sent over some tuna, and if the 49ers win we will send over some hard-boiled eggs.

Go Chiefs!

Beaned in the noggin

Post by DJ »

A warning this video is not for the squeamish:

https://twitter.com/thecomeback/status/ ... 1729050625

This year they have been letting stuffies attend baseball games for some unknown reason - well a big bear in Schlop's town was attending a game but wasn't paying close enough attention and got struck in the head by a baseball!

Luckily the bear was quite fuzzy and should make a full recovery.

Let this be a lesson to all of us bears that if you are at a baseball game make sure to order the ice cream in a helmet so that you can then wear it as protection - but only AFTER you finish eating the ice cream, Duddles!
