Paddington
Paddington
What if I were to tell you that there is a new movie that
1) Is about a bear
and
2) stars Frobisher
and
3) has 98% tomatoes
Would you be interested in seeing that? Well surprise - that movie exists and is called Paddington! But none of the other bears are talking about it! I haven't even heard a peep from Schlop about it.
My theory is that it is being discriminated against because it stars a BROWN bear. I bet if Paddington was pink it would be a different story.
Well, I personally am very excited to see it!

Jimmy Fallon did a piece about Paddington!

Do you think Paddington could beat up Rocket Raccoon?

Every home needs a bear!
Guess what?
We just watched Paddington!
It is my new favorite movie. Paddington is my new favorite actor.
Paddington really likes marmalade sandwiches and he keeps one in his hat. He also calls pockets sandwich compartments.
I think Schlop and Paddington would get along really well!

Hi Shnoodles!
Thanks for all the Paddington updates and for watching it! I agree that it's a great step forward for brown bears in film!
Schlop is excited to try marmalade and keeping more snacks in his sandwich compartments.
He also hopes one day to visit Darkest Peru.
Thanks for keeping us all up on bears-in-movies! It's invaluable research you're providing us!

Paddington is back!
What if I were to tell you that the sequel to Paddington
1) is out now
and
2) has 100% tomatoes after 126 reviews
These are pretty exciting times to be a brown bear in Hollywood!
I wonder what kind of sandwich-nanigans Paddington gets up to this time?
Also how cool is it that Schlop wished to visit Darkest Peru in 2015, and now Lee will be going to Peru herself - the home of Paddington!!

Deepest Darkest Hugs
Yeah we can't believe Paddington 2 is doing so well!
And that Paddington is from Peru!
Lee is very excited to go to Paddington's home and look for other fuzzy bears that might need hugs!

For Ukraine!
We bears are living through a very intense moment in history right now as Russia has invaded Ukraine.
While some bears have been following the events closely, other bears have been mostly napping.... until now!
It turns out that the charismatic Ukrainian President Zelensky is none other than the Ukrainian voice of Paddington the Bear!!

Now more than ever bears are sending prayers for Paddington and friends to stay safe and defeat Russia!!

Paddington in Peru!
What if I were to tell you that
1) a third Paddington movie is in the works
and
2) it will be set in Paddington's birth country of Peru where Nibs and Lee spent a lot of time!
https://deadline.com/2023/04/paddington ... 235314478/
Will the Paddington trilogy be able to knock Lord of the Schlop's off the pedestal as the "number one trilly"? Only time will tell!

Paddington Photoschlops
Hey you jammy bears,
I found some fun Paddington news to tide us over as we await the 3rd Paddington film which is coming in January 2025. Somebody has been photoschlopping Paddington into different movie pictures each day - and they have almost been going for 1000 days straight! That is quite some dedication to Paddington!
Here is their twitter page: https://twitter.com/jaythechou
and here is a NY Times article about the endeavor: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/29/styl ... oshop.html

Paddington on stage
Hey you Paddington aficionados,
Lee is currently checking out a bunch of shows on Broadway but I just heard that there is a Paddington musical on the West End! This hopefully marks a trend of getting more bear representation in musicals.

Paddington for the Schlopscar Host?
Hey you marmalade guys,
Paddington stopped by the BAFTAs (the British Schlopscars) and presented an award. Apparently he was a highlight of the night - maybe that means he will be hosting the Schlopscars next year!
Paddington stopped by the BAFTAs (the British Schlopscars) and presented an award. Apparently he was a highlight of the night - maybe that means he will be hosting the Schlopscars next year!
When BAFTA announced that one of the awards presenters at this year’s ceremony would be Paddington Bear — well, one of the performers portraying him in a West End musical — it was clear that the moment would be a highlight. He didn’t disappoint. Standing behind a tiny lectern, Paddington said that he was proud to be not only “the first ever bear to present an award” at the BAFTAs, but also the first “to get marmalade all over” the trophy he was about to hand out.
“I was going to lick it off, but apparently that’s not very good manners,” Paddington added.
The bear then struggled to open the envelope containing the winner of the best children’s and family film. “It’s not easy with paws,” he said.
Lakshmipriya Devi, the director of winner “Boong,” a coming-of-age drama set in India, then gave a serious speech about ethnic conflict in India. Paddington stood at her side, listening attentively and nodding away.
