Books Lee reads

Post by lee »

I keep meaning to start this thread to keep track of what I'm reading.

I recently finished Love in the Time of Cholera. It was ok. Heavy on the descriptive stuff, light on the plot/symbolism/metaphors/meaning/point.

But it was alright. The protagonists were often 80 year old people, so that was fairly interesting.

Anyhow, now I'm about 150 pages into Dune. I like reading that again. I like that book.

Hey Lee. Good to see you are blogging about books again! That's what inspired me to start my own thread too. I can't believe you are reading Dune again!! You really like that book, huh? You are like a Dune-aholic!

Lee - who do you think would win in a fight between Ender and Paul? (It would be a knife fight in the battle room) Let me know!

Schlop is the mind killer!

Dragons!

Post by peaches »

I just heard that Lee got a book about a dragon named Lance! It sounds very exciting and I bet Lance is a really cool dragon. I wonder if he knows Levitas? Levitas was my very favorite dragon.

Cool!

Gulliver and I both read Neil's new book about Norse Mythology!

I liked it a LOT! The best part was the dwarf forging battle!

Do you think we should try to come up with some questions for Neil?

Like what's your Goblin name??

Or who's your favorite carebear??

Another co-read book

Gulliver and I both read Ms Marvel!

We liked Chunky the Hamster. And that winged sloth that looked like Duddles.

We have some gripes about super-heroes in general and think that maybe this grouping of issues wasn't a complete story line.

We learned about Thomas Edison the cockatiel tho.

It's fun to read books with Gulliver!

Lee and Schlop are working their way through American Schlops!

So far they have read all of Season One of the TV show and so hopefully soon they will start catching up on that!

A few updates...

* They met Anansi! And got to do the House on the Rock.
* Lee was wondering if any Hindu gods would show up and one did! I think more to come.
* Lee is very excited about meeting some Egyptian gods, and now there's talk of Kay-ro. Oooh!
* Huggins or Muggins was chatting with Shadow in the forest, hoo hoo!
* Laura is still 2spooky4sneeches
* Schlop wants some of those hand and feet warmer packs for cold foggy days

American Schlops

Post by Gulliver »

I heard Lee stayed up late and finished American Schlops in a superhuman display of reading.

Lee really delved deep into the book and did research about different Schlops and everything.
