Big Blue Bear

Hey guys- this is pretty cool.

Have you heard about the Big Blue Bear they built outside the Denver Convention Center? I saw it for the first time about a month ago, it's pretty neat- a giant blue polar bear, peering inside.

Today I went to the Denver Film Festival and saw a documentary on the Big Blue Bear, how it was made and the artist who thought it up, how they did it with a polygonal model and all. Then the ACTUAL artist (Lawrence Argent) was there and answered questions from the crowd. He was a cool guy from Australia that acted in every way like Ian Malcom's character (Jurassic Park, Snuffles).

It was funny in one part cause they showed a lazer scanning this polar bear toy to make the polygonal model!

I realized that from my office in the Boettcher building, I can actually SEE IT! He's peeping into the Convention Center! Hoo hoo.

Maybe I can smuggle in a camera and take a few photos from above.

Hey Lee, I decided I should probably post this in the blue bear thread...

I heard (from DJ) that you were telling people that I use blue shampoo... I thought I should clear this up. It's true that I use Selson Blue - it is because I have a bit of a dandruff problem... The Selson Power really works for me. But it doesn't make my fur blue or anything - you are wrong in thinking there are no such thing as naturally blue bears. Look at Gulliver if you need more proof. Anyways, please don't tell anyone about my dandruff...

I know you're a natural blue! You were blue the day I got you! There must be some misunderstanding. I'm glad you use blue shampoo too... even if it doesn't help your color, it's still cool.

Speaking of blue... I finally uploaded this picture I took in person of the Big Blue Bear. I'm standing on the third floor inside the convention center. Look how big he is! Do you guys think he looks like Gulliver?

Whoa, I can't believe there is another blue bear in the mix - how exciting!

I heard he has been cryogenically frozen since 1990 so he missed all the exciting things that happened in the 90's and the aughts. In other words he is a bear stuck in the 80's ... just like Duddles!
